New Nokia 7610 Supernova - Best New Cell Phones

The Nokia 7610 Supernova sports a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash, capable of capturing VGA resolution video clips at up to 15 frames per second. As well as having an FM radio and multimedia player, the 7610 comes with a 2.5mm AV connector and TV output capability, so it is quite a capable media phone.

The display is a 2″ 240 x 320 pixel panel in 16 million colours, which is perhaps a little smaller than we would like to see. Talktime is pretty decent at up to 5.4 hours with a maximum of 12 days standby time. Overall, the Nokia 7610 Supernova measures 98 x 48 x 15mm and weighs 99 grams which is pretty typical for this type of device.

It’s not a cheap phone, costing €225 (around £180 / $360) before tax and subsidy. That puts it roughly in the same price range as the Nokia N81 and Nokia N77 which are both 3G devices but don’t have the same quality of camera as the 7610.

New Nokia 7510 Supernova - Best New Cell Phones

The Nokia 7510 Supernova comes with a 2.2″ internal QVGA display, a semi-concealed external monochrome display, a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash, FM radio, multimedia player, stereo Bluetooth and microSD expandable memory.

A step down in specification from the upcoming Nokia 6600 Fold, the Nokia 7510 Supernova is a pretty standard GSM clamshell device when you get beneath the attractive exterior. But then the whole “Supernova” concept is really about looks. Here the 7510 comes into its own with a selection of lighting effects and a combination of glossy and metal materials combine to make the 7510 look a lot more interesting than a standard Nokia clamshell.

Priced at around €180 (£140 / $280) before tax and subsidy, the 7510 is very much a midrange phone. The standard sales package will include a 512MB microSD card, stereo wired headset, two Xpress-on covers and an AC-3 charger. Nokia say that the 7510 Supernova should be available during Q3 2008.

New Nokia 7310 Supernova - Best New Cell Phones

The Nokia 7310 Supernova a few weeks ago when Nokia accidentally leaked the complete specifications for the device.

One key feature with the 7310 is the exchangeable covers. Supplied as standard is a “Steel Blue” Xpress-on cover plus either “Wasabi Green” or “Candy Pink”. Some of the other colour combinations available (depending on region) are “Espresso Brown”, “Plum Jam”, “Mushroom Silver”, “Yellow Mellow” and “Electric Blue”. You can also change the colour schemes in software, so there’s quite a bit of scope for personalising your 7310.

It’s not a very expensive phone, at €155 (or £120 / $240) before tax and any carrier discount.. so it should appeal to prepay customers as well as those on contract. We understand that the Nokia 7310 Supernova is already available in certain markets, and it should have a more widespread release in the next couple of weeks.
